Hyper Tyres — The Mobile Tyre Company
The right tyres for your electric drive.
Search tyres for your electric car by size, vehicle or photo. See EV-specific options first, then compare other tyres in the same size with clear fitting prices.
Mobile tyre fitting is available at eligible Auckland home and workplace addresses, subject to address and appointment checks. Installer fitting and delivery are available nationwide.
Start with your tyre size. We show EV-specific families and variants first, followed by other tyres in that exact size. Compare the features that matter to you, then check your vehicle’s load index, speed rating and special tyre requirements before choosing.
Same size is the starting point, not the whole fitment check. Confirm load index, speed rating, pressure and any XL, HL, run-flat or OE requirement against your vehicle’s tyre placard and handbook. Different front and rear sizes must be checked separately.
Load capacity comes first
Battery weight can make load capacity especially important. Match your vehicle’s required load index and construction. XL means extra load; it is not an EV badge and is not a universal requirement for every electric car.
Range without overlooking grip
Lower rolling resistance can help reduce energy use. It is one part of the choice alongside wet grip, braking, comfort and wear. There is no fixed range improvement for every EV tyre; pressure, weather and driving also matter.
A quieter cabin makes tyres noticeable
Without much engine noise, road and tyre sounds may be easier to hear. Some exact variants include noise-reducing foam, such as Pirelli PNCS or Continental ContiSilent. This is a noise feature, not proof that a tyre is EV-specific.
Torque, pressure and wear
Vehicle weight, strong acceleration, alignment and pressure can all affect wear. Use the cold pressure specified for your car and have rapid or uneven wear checked. An EV label does not replace regular tyre care.
EV tyre questions
Does my electric car need EV-specific tyres?
Not necessarily. Some general-purpose tyres can meet an electric car’s requirements. Dedicated EV families and EV-focused variants address electric-vehicle demands, but your tyre still needs the correct size, load index, speed rating and construction. Start with the placard and handbook.
Which tyres appear first in this search?
We show all EV-specific models and variants explicitly marked EV or ELECT in the catalogue first. This includes ranges such as Hankook iON, Michelin Pilot Sport EV, Goodyear ElectricDrive and Continental eContact, alongside EV-labelled models from other brands. Ordinary models do not inherit an EV designation from another version of the same family.
Why are other tyres shown below the EV-specific options?
Many tyres are designed for more than one powertrain. Michelin e.Primacy, for example, is positioned for electric, hybrid and low-fuel-consumption vehicles rather than as an exclusively EV range. Other results match your selected size, but they are not automatically suitable for your car; check the full specification.
Does noise-reducing foam make a tyre EV-specific?
No. Noise-reducing foam is a separate feature. Pirelli PNCS and Continental ContiSilent are examples on particular variants. They can help reduce cabin noise without making every tyre with foam a dedicated EV tyre.
Can I use these results for a car with different front and rear sizes?
Search each axle’s size separately, keeping the load index, speed rating and vehicle requirements with it. Do not replace both axle sizes with one choice just because the vehicle is electric. Ask the team if the tyre placard or OE marking is unclear.
